Recent Upgrades / Renovations
Because Morocco is hosting CAN 2025 and is co-hosting the FIFA World Cup 2030, the stadium is under renovation/upgrading:Phase 1: Almost complete — includes renovating the exterior, increasing parking capacity (from ~2,600 to ~4,100 spots), renovating the field (main pitch + training pitches), improving ticketing points, updating vestiaires (locker rooms), reinforcing perimeter fencing.Phase 2 (by 2030): Will include full roof coverage (360° panoramic roof), extension of seating, upgrading VIP areas, better alignment with FIFA requirements.

The stadium is versatile: it hosts football, athletics, concerts, cultural events, etc.Architecturally, its design is noted to resemble a fortress or stronghold from outside, because of its structure and lighting towers.
